STRESZCZENIE
Grzybica paznokci należy do najczęstszych schorzeń dermatologicznych. Pomimo wprowadzenia w ostatnich latach innowacyjnych oraz skutecznych leków o działaniu przeciwgrzybiczym, onychomikozy aparatu paznokciowego są problemem ciągle aktualnym, a częstość ich występowania stale wzrasta.
Celem pracy było przestawienie aktualnej epidemiologii występowania grzybicy paznokci u ludzi oraz podkreślenie roli lekarza dermatologa i podologa w procesie leczenia. Autorka zwróciła uwagę na nowe, alternatywne metody terapii z zastosowaniem olejków eterycznych o działaniu przeciwgrzybiczym w leczeniu miejscowym, a także ich synergistyczne działanie z lekami farmakologicznymi.
Ze względu na różnorodność i podobieństwo patogenów wywołujących grzybicę paznokci, istotna jest diagnostyka mykologiczna.
Właściwa identyfikacja szczepu odpowiedzialnego za stan chorobowy płytek paznokciowych pozwala na odpowiednie dobranie prawidłowej i skutecznej terapii przeciwgrzybiczej.

Podological therapy in the case of dermatophytosis of the nail
ABSTRACT
Nail Onychomycosis is the most common dermatological disease. Despite the introduction of innovative and effective antifungal drugs in recent years, onychomycosis of the nail apparatus is still an ongoing problem, and the incidence of occurrence is constantly increasing.
The aim of the work was to present the current epidemiology of the occurrence of onychomycosis in humans and to emphasize the role of the dermatologist and the podologist in the treatment. The author drew attention to new, alternative methods of therapy with the use of essential oils with antifungal activity in topical treatment, as well as their synergistic action with pharmacological drugs.
Due to the diversity and similarity of pathogens that cause this disease, mycological diagnostics is important.
Proper identification of the strain responsible for the diseased state of the nail plates allows proper selection of correct and effective antifungal therapy.
