Streszczenie

Skóra jest największym organem człowieka oraz jednocześnie pierwszą barierą, chroniącą narządy wewnętrzne przed działaniem środowiska zewnętrznego. Składa się z naskórka, skóry właściwej i tkanki podskórnej.
Naskórek to najbardziej zewnętrzna warstwa skóry, która dzięki zwartej budowie sprzyja zarówno zapobieganiu utraty wody ze skóry, jak i chroni organizm przed przedostawaniem się substancji z zewnątrz.
Warstwa rogowa naskórka pełni funkcję głównej i podstawowej bariery dla związków aktywnych, które przenikają przez skórę. Jej lipofilowy charakter oraz zwarta struktura ograniczają penetrację cząsteczek w głąb skóry.
Celem pracy było omówienie budowy i właściwości skóry oraz przedstawienie metod umożliwiających przenikanie substancji aktywnych przez błony biologiczne.
Zagadnienie dotyczące transportu substancji aktywnych przez skórę oraz błony komórkowe to w dalszym ciągu istotny element badań nad efektywnością działania związków stosowanych w kosmetyce.

Mechanisms and methods of active ingredients penetration through the skin lipid barrier

Abstract

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and, at the same time, the first barrier protecting internal organs from the external environment. The skin consists of the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue.
The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin, which thanks to its dense structure, promotes both the prevention of water loss from the skin and protection against the ingress of substances from the outside.
The stratum corneum acts as the main and primary barrier for active compounds that penetrate the skin. Its lipophilic character and dense structure limit the penetration of molecules into the skin.
The aim of the work was to discuss the structure and properties of the skin as well as present methods for enabling the penetration of active ingredients through the skin. The issue of the transport of active ingredients  through the skin and cell membranes is still an important element of research on the effectiveness of compounds used in cosmetics.
